Q. Do you have any sponsors?

A. I am very fortunate to be sponsored by Frontier Bullets.

Q. In what Division are you competing in at the IPSC World Shoot?

A. Ladies Open Division.

Q. How did you qualify to receive an invitation to attend the 18th annual IPSC World Shoot?

A. Competitors are selected in order of the SAPSA selection logs. These logs are based on an average of the best two out of three pre-determined Level 3 or higher selection matches. All categories within their respective divisions are required to achieve 60% or higher to the overall division winner, as well as 85% or higher in their category

Q. What training regimen do you follow (physical and mental) in preparation to compete with the best IPSC shooters in the world?

A. I attend regular training sessions with my coach, Albert Wessels, where we work on both the physical and mental aspects of IPSC. I try to include three dry-fire sessions a week, but prefer live fire, as this gives both positive and negative feedback. For physical fitness, I work-out three times a week with a trainer, focusing on core training, balance, and muscle strength. I recently started watt bike classes twice a week, which is helping with me physical and mental endurance.

Q. Is there a specific international IPSC shooter whom you look forward to competing against?

A. There are so many. However, I am really looking forward to seeing Jessie Duff in action. As this will be my first time representing South Africa and competing internationally, I will be use this opportunity to gain as much experience from the international competitors as possible.

Q. Are you utilising the same equipment (gear) as you use on the local circuit, or are you fielding new equipment for the IPSC World Shoot?

A. No. During the 2016 selection matches, I competed with my STI Trubor 9mm major using 130 gr Frontier bullets. I have since changed to a custom STI .38 super comp using 121 gr match-grade bullets from Frontier, which I will be competing with in France.

Q. Do you have a Facebook or Twitter account that fellow shooters can follow when Team South Africa competes at the World Shoot?

A. Yes, you can follow me on my Facebook page at Kirsty Shovlin-Bohler, where I will post regular updates on the World Shoot.
